Del Mar: Sharp debut

John Scott broke slow (like many Bertrando colts), and he was uncomfortable early in race 5.

But the 2-year-old firster rallied between horses into the lane, and powered home outside to win like a colt with a future.

He paid $9.60, and definitely wants to run long.

Nice job by trainer Carla Gaines and jockey Victor Espinoza.
